Podcast Appearance and What is Next for the Substack
Last night, I was a guest on The LPAlliance podcast with Kyle Davis, Phil Rein, and Amanda Griffiths where we had an enjoyable conversation on uncovering the financial scandals regarding Libertarian Party Chair Angela McArdle as well as discussion for a way to move the party forward.
There are still investigative reports I plan to conduct and release on this Substack regarding the Libertarian Party. For one, the joint fundraising committee (JFC) between the Robert Kennedy campaign and the Libertarian Party has barely been touched.
Liberty Sentries published an article this morning detailing how much money organizations tied to former Libertarian Party Chair Angela McArdle’s household brought in from the agreement versus what state parties made from the JFC.
From my point of view, it looks like the Libertarian Party sold its soul and brand for a small amount of money through a rushed agreement the national committee and state parties didn’t fully understand. This agreement could continue to have negative consequences for the party, and we should find out the real reasons why the party entered into the controversial agreement.
Another story I am following is a proposal to sell off the vacant Libertarian Party headquarters. Under McArdle’s leadership, the party vacated their building and moved the remaining staff to remote work.
According to sources, the party is in deep financial trouble and may be trying to use part of the proceeds of a sale to pay off the nearly $100,000 in credit card debt they have accumulated. Paying off a credit card without addressing the issues with the budget is a recipe for disaster.
Where does this Substack go from here?
I plan to go more in depth into topics not just related to the Libertarian Party but in news, policy, and history.
I focus on the Libertarian Party a lot because I know it very well and because it is a micro view of the larger political climate. We can see the same political problems in the party (factionalism, cult like thinking, and corruption) being large issues nationally and internationally. How we solve these problems in the Libertarian Party will give us good insight into how we solve these problems at a larger scale for the country.
If you subscribe to the Strauss-Howe generational cyclical generational theory of America, we are in a revolutionary 80-100 year cycle and we are in the final decade of this revolutionary time. While I don’t entirely subscribe to the theory, I do believe we are in a revolutionary time in American history where we need to decide the direction, we as a nation, are going to go.
In addition to looking at micro examples, looking in depth at historical examples across the world may give us insight into how we escape authoritarianism in favor of classical liberal thought.
So, keep an eye out on the Substack. Your readership and support are greatly appreciated.
I welcome your thoughts in the comments as to what you would like from this Substack.
